Back Yard Recordings were looking for a cost effective solution to pack a promo by the American band Gossip. Due to the limited budget we got rolls of packaging tape printed up and we branded and sealed all the sleeves with it. The single ‘Standing in the Way of Control’ shot up the charts and we art directed the following three UK single releases. Each one was approached as a new brief but we stuck to the formula of creating a custom drawn piece of typography to act as a logo for the song title and coupling this with a piece of commissioned photography. The campaign expanded into 48-sheet posters and even influenced some of the band’s videos.

Blank sleeves with custom printed packaging tape sealing the top. The packaging tape was also used for decorating stage shows, sealing touring kit and is still being used by Back Yard Records to seal every box and parcel that leaves the office.
