Uncommon Ground

Uncommon Ground. Land Art in Britain 1966 – 1979 proposes a new reading of British art between the mid-1960s and late 1970s, placing landscape and nature at the heart of the emerging avant-garde movements of the period. The Arts Council an Hayward Touring asked us to design the exhibition and catalogue for this show that would travel to four locations across the UK.
Our exhibition graphics and captions share the typography from our catalogue and had them laser etched into matt white acrylic and infilled with a sober grey pigment. The removable captions could be packed and sent to the next exhibition venue and the durable material referenced plaques found on countryside walks. Like the books inside front and back covers, we provided a map of the UK on a larger A2 laser etched panels that marked major sites and provided context to the works on show.
