Tapestry of Dalston

The lovely Patternity asked us to be in their inaugural, pattern inspired show titled “Tapestry of Dalston”. We looked at ‘pattern’ as being defined as: a representative sample and an arrangement of repeated parts. Trying to explore how living/working in the Dalston area had affected our lifestyles we developed the idea of how when you analyse any random sample when for long enough (in this case 1 year) patterns will become apparent. We visualised a ‘typical week’ which included visits to local restaurants, pubs and clubs using only typographic styling and a few small details. After creating this week and then repeating it exactly 52 times to fill a year, the patterns in our behaviour started to emerge.
