Skin & Bones

This invite was for a exhibition looking at how forms and materials in fashion and architecture have influenced each other since the 1980’s. The exhibition explored how over 50 internationally-renowned architects and designers including Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Future Systems, Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid ‘fashion’ buildings and ‘construct’ garments. So that it could fold down to an A5 for mailing we die-stamped over 50 creases into the A3 stock. The invite information was printed in gold and silver inks and the exhibition’s 50 contributors’ names ran along the fold lines printed in UV varnish. When the recipient completed all of the 50 folds the heavy uncoated stock changed and behaved like fabric and reflected various tones from its facets. Produced whilst working at Multistorey under the creative directorship of Rhonda Drakeford and Harry Woodrow.
