After creating two seasons of fabric prints based on optical illusions, Silas wanted to incorporate our visual ideas into designs for the interiors and exteriors of their Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka stores in Japan. The optical prints were developed into these large- scale wall pieces that drew reference from hypnotic imagery, the cult film ‘They Live’ and Silas’ anti-fashion ethos. The exterior graphics used specially designed iconic logos set over patterns of lines that use our optical effect to contain hidden messages that encourage free thought. (Step back from your screen and see if you can read them) The interior graphics were more detailed and complex as they would be seen close up and were made up of patterns of interwoven lines, Silas logos, phrases about perception and images from the seasons look book.
