Pook productions is a London based production company working on short films, music videos and commercial projects and they approached us to create an identity that would work across all print media and on screen. They are not a huge company and their personal and left-field approach is something that they wanted to highlight. Instead of creating a traditional static identity we produced a practical system for labelling all of their equipment and media that references old VHS and cassette label stickers. This practical multi-purpose approach avoided printing and designing individual labels and ensured the huge range of physical formats the company use would always be branded. The heavy condensed logo itself was applied to the stickers as a rubber stamp. Applying the logo in this way means that the content has been checked, finalised, signed off, it has in effect become a mark of approval. A set of stamp’s or stamp impressions were digitised and are used randomly as endplates to further extend the idea of a freshly created and signed off product.
