Maiden Britain

A collaboration between couture designer Ziad Ghanem and Inventory’s Robert Boon, Maiden Britain was conceived as a junior line for Ziad and to be an outlet for ideas, illustrations and prints the two had built up over a few years working together on Ziad’s couture label. The collections contrast punk and tribal graphics with those from the worlds of protest and consumerism and combines sex, wit and low culture references to communicate messages of love and acceptance. The label has had catwalk shows in London, Athens, Russia and Latvia, has been featured in numerous international fashion magazines, most notably Naomi Campbell in Vogue’s September Issue 2009, as well as blogs and television programmes in the UK and USA. Shown here are the embroidered clothing label, a selection of fashion week invites and look books.
