Lucien Freud Drawings

Beginning in the 1940s and spanning the artist’s career, Lucian Freud: Drawings brings together more than 100 works, many of which have never been shown in public before. To accompany the exhibition we designed a comprehensive set of print. Sticking to paper stocks inspired by the colour of frauds aged sketchbooks we chose simply to reproduce his drawn line at as high a quality as possible. Printing using only black – as most of his drawings were – we chose a selection of three images to display across the set of invitations and posters. The information was heavily foil embossed in white and typeset in Johnston Underground, used across London tube network, a subtle nod to the School of London, the group to which Freud was famously associated.
