Gilberto Zorio was a key figure in the Arte Povera movement during the 1960s, a group whose practices differed but were united but the use of modest found materials in their work. We took this as our starting point and kept everything simple, a single typeface and a basic layout. We took a preparatory image of a work and cropped it so that a Z shape in the sculpture framed Gilberto’s name. The electric blue pigment on the sculpture was enhanced in the image and used on the reverse. A simple secondary invite featured another image of Gilberto, this time installing the show at Blain|Southern, and picked out a bright red/orange from a shirt he was wearing that day.
