The number 4, an avant-garde retailer based in Kuwait, stock a range of selected fashion labels, furniture, books and art. Creatively they are uncompromising as a brand and avoid trends looking more towards the world of art for inspiration. As part of a larger refresh of their identity they asked us to create a dedicated site for their sale stock that needed to serve as a notice for new sale collections, capture visitors contact info and be flexible and dynamic and managed by them via a content management system. We proposed the idea of mimicking pop-up web banners and pixel/internet art and worked with mono-spaced text in frames with pixel drop shadows that respond to rollover and can be dragged and dropped providing some interaction on a site that is otherwise light in content. The windows re-order on refreshing and are optimised to work on all devices and this direction was also applied to a email newsletter.
